Application performance monitoring has long been called an Achilles' heel for Nagios — everyone repeating that Nagios just can't do APM. So the presenters started digging into it themselves. This year, Nagios sent them to the Red Hat Summit in Atlanta. As a fun side project, they created a bean bag game that they could monitor. They built a small container-based web application to keep score, and used that as an excuse to dive into the world of APM. In this session, we will show how APM is not only doable with Nagios, and it might be even easier than you think.
