January 31, 2012 – Nagios founder Ethan Galstad received the 2011 SAGE Outstanding Achievement Award for his contributions to the system administration community. Staff from USENIX presented the prize at the most recent LISA 2011 conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
The SAGE Outstanding Achievement Award is an annual award that is presented to individuals whose professional contributions to the system administration community over a number of years merit special recognition. Previous award winners include Larry Wall, Paul Vixie, Wietse Venema, Tobi Oetiker, and the Samba team.
“I’m honored to be recognized with this award and deeply grateful to Nagios users for their support, advocacy, and assistance over the years,” said Ethan Galstad, founder of Nagios. “Every day I’m thankful that I’m able to help bring something useful that has such a large impact into the community. Nagios is a big part of my life, and it’s an honor to receive this award and join the ranks of others who have been recognized for making a positive contribution to the sysadmin world.”
