Join an energized, industry leading team of sales professionals in the ever expanding field of software sales. As a Business Development Representative with Nagios Enterprises, you will be responsible for expanding our current customer base via a land and expand strategy as well as strategic targeting of key markets, industries and geographic regions.  This is a pivotal role in our companies success and we want motivated self-starters with a technical aptitude and affinity for technology to help us expand our footprint in the world of IT monitoring.  This is a fast paced job and we need individuals who can demonstrate an ability to get customers excited.

Job Duties:

  • Use prospecting strategies like cold calling, email and social networking to engage potential new leads
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer
  • Determine the prospect’s interest in Nagios
  • Establish effective sales funnel and customer timeline
  • Drive sales growth and pipeline through setting up discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects
  • Achieve [number] of activities per [day/week/month]
  • Engage current users to expand awareness, educate, ask for referrals, identify new opportunities and develop existing account intelligence
  • Effectively partner and work across the GTM teams – including direct and indirect sales channels and marketing
  • Work closely with other teams to develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct account engagement and insight tools
  • Hold intelligent and engaging conversations over the phone, email and chat
  • Act as the subject matter expert on product offerings/solution development skills
  • Maintain data integrity in our company CRM

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven business development success through effective use of core sales tools: Salesforce, LinkedIn, Google Apps, Microsoft Office, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a distributed sales team
  • Capability of understanding customer pain points, requirements and correlating potential business to value that can be provided by our Sales Team
  • Aptitude to manage numerous requests and time demands concurrently, while achieving production goals
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Promotes a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
  • Contributes fully to the team effort and plays an integral part in the smooth running of teams without necessarily taking the lead
  • Drive, Grit, Team Oriented: strong desire to compete and win
  • University Degree or relevant experience

Required General Qualifications:

  • Local to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area
  • Excellent grasp of the English language
  • Strong and professional communication skills — written, verbal and presentation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Professional work ethic and attitude
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Self-starter that demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to learn and problem-solve quickly

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment
  • Temporarily Remote during COVID
  • Full Time – 40 hours/week
  • Must have flexibility to work more than standard 8-hour days occasionally
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
